Supermarkets, cosmetics franchise stores, online... We see a wide variety of daily cosmetics every day. Have you ever wondered the difference between these pump heads? Pump heads are widely used in daily chemical packaging materials. Different product types generally use different pump heads. Let’s take a look at the application of pump heads in cosmetic packaging materials today.

push spray pump

It is the most important dispersing pump without propellant, there is no problem of using pressure-resistant containers, and containers of various materials and shapes can be widely used. It can be used for thinner viscous solutions or suspensions.

Principle: suck out the liquid, press the button, the lower glass ball closes the valve port, remove the air, release the button, a vacuum is generated, the glass ball is lifted, the liquid is sucked into the piston, and the piston can be filled with liquid after several repetitions. After the liquid is full, press the button, the glass ball falls, the liquid is ejected from the nozzle at high speed, and the droplets collide with each other to produce fine liquid particles.

These spray pumps are generally divided into four categories:

General-purpose dispersing pump: disperse emulsion-like products, the amount of each spray is about 1ml, the particle size is coarse, such as liquid soap.

Universal spray pump; each spray volume is about 1ml, medium to coarse particle size.

Fine mist dispersing pump: 0.05-0.2ml per spray, can spray a finer mist, such as perfume and gel water.

Pulse spray pump: each time the spray volume exceeds 1ml, it adopts a handle-type trigger that is pressed horizontally.

squeeze spray pump

Spray pumps are commonly used for air fresheners, laundry detergents, toilet cleaners, and hairsprays, and can be used for solutions or suspensions with moderate viscosity.

Principle: When the bottle is squeezed by hand, the liquid rises through the nozzle to the spray plug and mixes with the air entering the one-way valve near the top of the nozzle. The mixture dispersed, producing a spray.

Rubber Ball Spray Pump

A traditional atomization system, suitable for various viscous liquids or suspensions, dispersion liquids, most commonly used in lotion products, with a suitable valve, it can also be applied to powder products or form foams.

Principle: When the steam flow and air pass through the small holes, a decompression or partial vacuum area is generated, and the pressure difference makes the liquid rise through the tube, carried by the air flow, and the liquid is dispersed into smaller particles.

liquid dispensing pump

The difference from the spray pump is that it has no nozzle, and is mainly used for high-thickness cosmetics, such as shower gel, shampoo, etc.

Principle: There is an additional glass ball valve at the upper outlet, press the button to discharge the gas, and then release it, the upper glass ball closes the outlet, the piston creates a vacuum, the lower glass ball opens, sucks in the liquid, and the liquid can be squeezed out after repeated operations.

foam pump

There is no need to rub it with your hands, just press the head lightly with your hands, and foam will be sprayed from the nozzle. It is mainly used for cosmetics such as foamy facial cleanser.

Principle: Press the pump head repeatedly, the liquid will be sucked into the catheter through the piston, and after the liquid fills the catheter, press the pump head, the liquid will be sprayed out from the small hole, pass through a 200-mesh screen to form foam, and then pass through a 400-mesh screen to disperse into new foam.

Vacuum pump head

The contents of the vacuum bottle can be completely isolated from the air, preventing the product from oxidizing and deteriorating due to contact with the air, and breeding bacteria, which can effectively protect the fresh quality of the product. The vacuum bottle commonly used in the market is composed of a cylinder into an ellipsoid container and a piston placed at the bottom. Due to the complex structure and high cost, the use of vacuum bottle packaging is limited to a few categories of products, such as fresheners, etc. Unable to fully roll out in the market.

Principle: Use the contraction force of the spring to prevent air from entering the bottle, resulting in a vacuum state, and use atmospheric pressure to push the piston at the bottom of the bottle forward. However, since the spring force and atmospheric pressure cannot give enough force, the piston cannot be too tightly attached to the bottle wall, otherwise the piston will not be able to rise and move forward due to excessive resistance; Therefore, vacuum bottles have very high requirements on the professionalism of manufacturers.
